Germany, Berlin, June 3, 2015 - Mr. Bartosz Brusikiewicz, a self-employed seasoned businessman with broad Polish and Canadian Industry and market background, has been appointed as the First Honorary Consul of the Republic of Zambia to Poland by the Zambian Government.
The Honorary Consulate office was declared opened recently in Warsaw, Poland by His Excellency Bwalya Chiti, Zambian Ambassador to Federal Republic of Germany based in Berlin.
In his remarks, at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Chiti underlined the importance of having a Zambian consulate in Warsaw and added that the Zambian government deposes full trust and confidence in Mr. Brusikiewicz for his proven ability and skills as a businessman that he will be successful in his mission to develop a mutually rewarding partnership between Zambia and Poland.
Ambassador Chiti pointed out that the establishment of the Consulate was a result of the very close and all-round cooperative relations between Zambia and Poland and that it was a true reflection of the Zambian government's commitment to deepening friendly relations with Poland
He called upon the Polish business fraternity to use the Zambian Consulate to better understand what Zambia had to offer in as far as trade and investment was concerned.
Mr. Chiti further urged the Zambians living in Poland to support the Honorary Consul in his endeavour to represent and market Zambia efficiently in Poland.
And the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Katarzyna Kacperczyk congratulated the Zambian government for its' initiative to open a Consulate in Warsaw and further commended the two governments for having worked hard in the pursuance of rekindling the diplomatic and economic relations between Zambia and Poland.
First Secretary (Economic and Trade) to the Zambian Embassy in Berlin, Martin Mmembe, Honorary Consul General of Poland to Zambia, Dr. Maryla Wisniewski, African Ambassadors accredited to Poland, Senior Government officials, various Polish Company representatives and Zambians living in Poland were among those who graced the occasion.
